Definition and Introduction of Love

Updated: Feb 6

What is Love?

Love by definition from Google is...

  1. an intense feeling of deep attraction

  2. a greatest interest and pleasure in something

  3. a person or thing that one loves

But, love is so much more than that. Love is doing something consciously without thinking about it or without announcing it to the whole world before doing it. It is something you do because your intentions behind the act is pure and simply because you want to do it.

Different Types of Love

  1. Physical Love

  2. Emotional Love

  3. Love for God

  4. Romantic Love

  5. Family Love

  6. Friendship Love

  7. Love for Yourself

  8. Love for Nature

Acting Vs. Pure Intentions

Acting is something you do physically or it is the way of pretending to be something you are not as such in theatre (plays, movies, tv shows, and etc.)

Pure intentions are something that you have within your heart. You can have bad intentions or you can have good intentions.

Acting: When you seek attention from the world for helping someone in need it may show that your intentions are not pure or that they may not be good. It may show that you are only helping that person in order to gain a specific status in your life. It may demonstrate that you have a greedy personality. Greed does not always have to be about money. Greed can be about money, status, and/or power. It shows the opposite of love but I would not conclude that it is necessarily hate. A person can seek attention for their actions but not hate their achievements for doing so. However, it does not demonstrate genuine love.

Pure Intentions: When you love someone and you have pure intentions it means that you will treat them with respect, kindness, and compassion. Having pure intentions can mean picking up a piece of garbage from the ground even if it is not yours. This shows that you love nature and respect God's world. Having pure intentions can mean opening the door for someone even if they do not do it for you. Having pure intentions mean that you do not want to gain anything from helping or being kind to others but you are simply doing it because you want to. It means not expecting favors or expecting people to owe you for the kindness that you offered and gave to them.
